Friends & Donations

Financial support for the creation of this website was provided by the Cyril Capling Trust Fund of the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, and the Department of Plant Sciences.

Thanks to our friends at Meewasin Valley Authority for helping to spread endless piles of wood mulch, pruning shrubs, digging drainage canals, and for the installation our northeast culvert.

Friends of Patterson Garden Arboretum Fund

Plant biodiversity on the Prairies is becoming an increasing concern with our changing climate. Maintaining a diverse spectrum of plant species is important to ensure a healthy environment for future generations.

The University of Saskatchewan is working to rejuvenate, preserve, maintain and expand Patterson Garden Arboretum. While some species have reached their prime and passed on, tree species such as oak, elm, linden, ash and many conifers may live for hundreds of years. Many of the species in Patterson Garden Arboretum are mere teenagers in the plant world.

Donations are being accepted for the Friends of Patterson Garden Fund. Expansion plans for the arboretum have been drawn up and new specimens will be added as space becomes available.

Co-operation with other botanical gardens throughout the world will continue via exchanging plant material and/or information.
